Audi has previewed the future of its Q range or SUVs and crossovers with a concept called the Crosslane, shown at the Paris Motor Show.

The car is believed to be a preview for the upcoming Q2. As a concept, it’s built with only two seats, two doors and a removable hard roof. The shape is beefy and strong, and we’re hoping Audi will have the courage to make a production two-door B-SUV like this.

The Crosslane concept is 4.21 meters long, 1.88 meters wide and 1.51 meters high, riding on a wheelbase of 2.56 meters. This is about the same length and wheelbase as a Skoda Yeti, which is believed to be underpinning the upcoming Q2. However, it’s quite a bit wider and lower.

The Crosslane is a plug-in hybrid, powered by two electric motors and a a 3-cylinder 1.5-liter TFSI engine that supposedly achieve 1.1 l/100km or 214 mpg US, with only 26 grams of CO2 coming out the back.

The output of the system is 180 hp, and this is enough to push the small SUV from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.6 seconds. in hybrid mode or 9.8 seconds in EV mode.
